Rosewood Arrives in Amsterdam: A New Landmark in Luxury
Fast-growing luxury hotel group Rosewood is making an impressive mark in Europe, steadily expanding its presence in major cities across the continent. The brand has just opened its newest property in Amsterdam—and it’s poised to become one of the city’s premier addresses.
(We recently published an overview of all existing Rosewood hotels and how they are priced. You can find that article here)
Overview of the New Rosewood Amsterdam
As of May 1, 2025, Rosewood Amsterdam is officially open. This marks the brand’s debut in the Netherlands and adds to its growing European portfolio, which already includes locations in London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Salzburg, Tuscany, and Vienna.
The 134-room hotel is set along the historic Prinsengracht canal, occupying the former Palace of Justice—a building originally constructed in 1665. After nearly two centuries as a courthouse, the structure has undergone a remarkable transformation into a luxury hotel.

Rosewood Amsterdam offers three distinct dining and drinking venues: Eeuwen, the all-day restaurant focused on hyper-seasonal cuisine; Advocatuur, the signature bar; and The Court, the stylish lobby lounge. Guests also have access to the Asaya Spa, which includes a 12-meter indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and a fully equipped fitness center.

Entry-level rooms start at 35 square meters (377 square feet), with suites beginning at 53 square meters (570 square feet). Many rooms boast picturesque canal views.

With its striking design and elevated offerings, we wouldn’t be surprised if Rosewood Amsterdam quickly claims the title of the city’s top luxury hotel. Up until now, the Waldorf Astoria has held that distinction—especially for points enthusiasts—though the Conservatorium Hotel, soon to be rebranded as a Mandarin Oriental, is also a strong contender. Other respected options like Pulitzer Amsterdam round out the high-end scene, albeit on a slightly different level.
Rosewood Amsterdam Rates & How to Book
Rates at the Rosewood Amsterdam currently begin at just over €700 per night, depending on season and availability. That’s in line with current trends in European luxury hospitality, where pricing has risen significantly in recent years.

We appreciate that Rosewood’s website includes a rate calendar, which makes it easy to compare nightly costs over a range of dates.
To celebrate the opening, the hotel is offering a “More Rosewood” promotion—stay three nights and receive the fourth night free. This offer is valid through March 31, 2026, and is a great way to lower the average cost per night.
For the best value, we recommend booking through our own Unmatched Voyages Hotels. This route typically combines promotional pricing with additional perks at no extra cost.
Conclusion
The opening of Rosewood Amsterdam marks an exciting addition to the city’s luxury hotel landscape—and the brand’s first foray into the Netherlands. Set within the historically rich Palace of Justice, this hotel blends heritage with modern luxury. We expect it to give long-standing favorites like the Waldorf Astoria some healthy competition—especially with its curated service and attention to detail.
