We’re always excited to see Hyatt expand its luxury portfolio, especially considering the excellent value of World of Hyatt Globalist status and the ability to redeem points for top-tier experiences. One property we’ve been watching with particular interest is the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur—an exciting new addition for those who love hotels with jaw-dropping views from the top floors of skyscrapers.

With the opening now just weeks away, we’ve received new details about what guests can expect.
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur at a Glance
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is now accepting reservations for stays beginning August 7, 2025. This stunning hotel will occupy the top 17 floors of the Merdeka 118 tower—the tallest building in Kuala Lumpur and the entire Asia-Pacific region.

In contrast to many skyscraper hotels that take up lower levels, Park Hyatt is going sky-high. Guests will find themselves staying on floors 102 through 118, offering sweeping views that are not for the faint of heart.

The property will feature 232 accommodations, including 28 suites and 30 residential apartments. Entry-level rooms will start at a spacious 570 square feet, while suites will begin at 1,119 square feet.

Design, Dining & Wellness
All dining venues will be housed on a single level and include:
Merdeka Grill – the hotel’s signature lunch and dinner restaurant
Cacao Mixology & Chocolate – the highest bar in Kuala Lumpur
Park Lounge – an all-day space offering breakfast, afternoon tea, and more

Guests will also enjoy a full wellness floor featuring:
A destination spa with six treatment rooms
Sauna and steam room
A 30-meter indoor infinity pool
A fully equipped fitness center

The hotel’s sleek interiors and elevated amenities are designed to match the grandeur of the location.
A Long-Awaited Opening
Originally scheduled to open in 2021, the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur experienced multiple delays, largely due to the pandemic. The newly advanced opening date is a promising sign that the hotel is finally ready to debut.
Rates & Redemption Options
As a Category 5 World of Hyatt property, redemption rates for a free night in a standard room range from 17,000 to 23,000 points. Standard suites can be booked for 29,000 to 35,000 points per night.

For cash bookings, rates currently start around 1,400 MYR (approximately $315 USD) per night, before taxes and fees.

For those paying cash, we recommend booking a Hyatt Privé rate through our very own Unmatched Voyages Hotels, which provides valuable perks like room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, and hotel credits.
Kuala Lumpur continues to be one of the world’s best-value markets for luxury hotels. While most high-end properties in the city fall well below the $300 per night mark, Park Hyatt is positioning itself firmly at the top end. It remains to be seen whether it can sustain this pricing, given its size and ambitious scale.
Will It Be the World’s Highest Hotel?
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will certainly offer some of the highest hotel rooms on the planet. For comparison:
The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong also occupies floors 102–118, but due to skipped floor numbers, its top floor sits at 1,562 feet.
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will reach 1,650 feet, making it technically higher.
However, the title of the world’s highest hotel goes to the Rosewood Guangzhou, topping out at 1,740 feet above ground.
Conclusion
The Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is set to open its doors in August 2025, promising an extraordinary stay high above the Malaysian capital. Between its commanding views, elevated amenities, and Hyatt’s luxury service, this property has all the makings of a world-class flagship. We can’t wait to experience it for ourselves.
