Details of the JW Marriott Crete, Greece
The JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa officially opened in June 2025. As a seasonal property, it’s currently available for bookings through October 31, 2025, and is expected to reopen in spring 2026.
Located on 100 acres of coastal land on Greece’s largest island, the 160-key resort offers rooms, suites, and villas — most with private pools and all with views of the Aegean Sea. The design blends contemporary luxury with authentic Cretan heritage.
Dining options at the resort include:
ANOEE – Cretan open-fire cuisine
Õnalos – Sea-to-table dining
Cuccagna – Italian dishes
Fayi – Mediterranean-style shared plates
Suncti by the Pool and Eēxis – Wine, cocktails, and light bites
Wellness facilities are a standout, featuring the ANOSEAS Spa with five treatment rooms and hydrotherapy services, four sea-view swimming pools, a fitness center, and a yoga deck.
The property is located near Marathi Beach, just outside Chania. It’s easily accessible — about 15 minutes by car from Chania Airport (CHQ) and approximately two hours from Heraklion Airport (HER).
JW Marriott Crete rates & points requirements
Rates at JW Marriott Crete vary by season. Unsurprisingly, prices peak in August — we’re seeing cash rates around €500 per night during the summer high season, dropping to under €300 toward the end of October.

Redemption rates for Marriott Bonvoy start at around 44,000 points per night, though paying cash will often offer better value during peak periods.
Why we’re excited about this new JW Marriott property
Greece continues to be one of our favorite destinations — the warm Mediterranean climate, diverse island culture, and incredible cuisine are just a few reasons we keep coming back.
Of the more popular Greek islands, Crete is easily our top choice. It’s large, culturally rich (with influences from nearby Africa), and feels far less overrun than tourist-heavy islands like Mykonos or Santorini. The vibe is more authentic, and visitors are more spread out.
Conclusion
The arrival of JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa adds another exciting luxury option to Greece’s hotel landscape — and to the Marriott portfolio. The property is elegant, well-designed, and surprisingly full of charm for a JW Marriott-branded resort.
If you’re considering a stay, we highly recommend booking through our very own Unmatched Voyages Hotels to take advantage of value-added perks such as daily breakfast, hotel credits, and potential room upgrades, all through the Marriott STARS program.
Crete was already one of our favorite destinations — and with this opening, it just became even more tempting.
