New Hilton LXR Hotel in Paris: Sax Paris Opens in May 2025

While Paris is arguably the world’s most competitive market for luxury hotels, there are surprisingly few luxury points options available in the city. That’s why Hilton’s newest opening in Paris stands out—Sax Paris might just be the brand’s most luxurious offering in the French capital.

Basics of Hilton LXR’s 118-key Sax Paris

Sax Paris, part of Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts collection, officially opened in late May 2025. It’s located in the 7th arrondissement on Paris’ Left Bank.

The property occupies a former telephone exchange dating back to 1899, featuring a Belle Époque façade and offering some views of the Eiffel Tower. From what we’ve seen, the area is quite residential and peaceful.

The hotel includes 118 rooms and suites. Guest rooms begin at 24 square meters (258 square feet), while junior suites start at 38 square meters (409 square feet)—so by Parisian luxury standards, room sizes lean compact.

As for amenities, Sax Paris features a wellness area, fitness center, and outdoor plunge pool. On the culinary side, there’s Kinugawa, a Japanese restaurant on the top floor; SAX, an all-day dining restaurant; The Garden, an outdoor bar and lounge; and The Galerie, a striking bar decorated with 200 mirrors.

Rates at Sax Paris start around €348 (approx. $400) per night, while Hilton Honors award redemptions begin at 110,000 points per night. It’s certainly not cheap, but it’s far more accessible than many of Paris’ top-tier hotels, where nightly rates often exceed €1,500 ($1,635).

For context, LXR is Hilton’s fast-growing collection of independent luxury hotels. These properties maintain their unique identity while benefiting from Hilton’s global booking system and the Hilton Honors loyalty program.

Interestingly, when the project was first announced back in 2017, it was slated to become the Hilton Paris Eiffel Tower. Clearly, Hilton has since chosen to elevate the concept by incorporating it into the LXR brand.

This should be Hilton’s most luxurious Paris property

Hilton has made impressive strides in expanding its luxury portfolio in recent years. The Waldorf Astoria brand has added some striking flagship properties globally, while the Conrad and LXR brands have also seen strong growth.

Until now, though, Hilton lacked a true luxury presence in Paris itself. The closest option has been the Waldorf Astoria Versailles – Trianon Palace, which is beautiful but not located in the city proper.

That absence has been surprising, especially given Hilton’s luxury presence in other global cities like London, New York, Tokyo, and Sydney.

We expect Sax Paris to elevate Hilton’s standing in Paris, though it likely won’t rival the city’s ultra-luxury players. For example, Hyatt’s Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme holds the prestigious “Palace” designation, though it’s starting to show its age. Marriott’s top option, the Prince de Galles (part of the Luxury Collection), sits just steps away from the Four Seasons George V—an enviable location or unfortunate comparison, depending on your perspective.

Still, we’re pleased to see a new Paris luxury points hotel enter the market, and we hope Hilton has further plans for an even more prominent flagship property in the future.

Sax Paris is now open as part of Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts collection. The 118-room property brings a much-needed luxury presence for Hilton within Paris city limits.
